4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Chartplotter, best price at Amazon!, December 7, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
If you are looking for a compact, user friendly GPS Chartplotter/Sounder; buy this one. Garmin is the best, most fairly priced plotter/sounders available. My only regret was not buying the 541s. That 1 inch make a difference. I've been on the water ny whole life and for the money the 441s and 541s are the best plotters available. Amazon has the best prices on them too. WOuld have recieved 5 stars but add and tech infor doesn't state how long the transducer wire is. I took a chance and it fit with some room to spare. Transducer wire is 25-30 ft long. I also recommend buying the transducer with speed and water temp.

3.0 out of 5 stars NO Map included/ don't like alphabet scroll when naming a position, August 13, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
The description leads one to believe it has a U.S. base map installed. Unless I'm doing something wrong it has no map what so ever. Be prepared to spend another $99 to upload any kind of map. Yes, it is of good quality. Installation is a snap. Most of us will only use the ground and hot wire. More advanced installation will provide you with leads to your radio and other communication devices. Ease of use is good, you will have to page through a lot to find what you want though. One thing I really don't like is once you mark your position you have to page forward twice to name it then scrolling through the alphabet characacters is like pulling teeth. Don't get me wrong. I will rate it good for value, just remember you get what you pay for. If I had to do it all over I would spend the extra money for a better model.

3.0 out of 5 stars Unit looks good, June 14, 2010
The unit has a nice clear screen that shows up well in any light conditions. I have the same problem with this unit that I had with my handheld Garmin. The Inland Lakes software does not properly show the location of the boat. It will display the boat skidding along on dry land when you are 200ft. off shore. This seems to be a problem with the way the software interacts with the unit. If you save the track to a computer, open Inland Lakes there, it will always show the boat in the water. Trying to explain this to Garmin support is like talking to my cat. I have had a lot of Garmin products and they work well for the most part, but, support is almost nonexistent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hey...Its a Garmin!!!, February 20, 2009

This review is from: Kenwood KNAG510 Hideaway Navigation System (Electronics)
I have the Kenwood KNA-G510 Nav. hooked up to the New 2009
Kenwood KVT-514 DVD receiver. The Nav. is surpurbe, like a Garmin should be. There are other receivers out there that offer navigation, but you can't beat Kenwood and Garmin's track record. I doint have the Bluetooth conected yet, but I understand when you are looking up a place of business(Restaurant) You can press on the phone number and it will dial the phone number of the place (very cool). I think this is a GREAT product and will add one to my other car as well.

1 word of CAUTION...KENWOOD ONLY HONORS THERE WARRANTY IF YOU BUY FROM THEIR AUTHORIZED DEALERS..(Crutchfield).

5.0 out of 5 stars The best integrated GPS system I have ever seen, May 16, 2010

This review is from: Kenwood KNAG510 Hideaway Navigation System (Electronics)
I bought this along with my KVT-512 a while back and have been using it for a couple months. I refuse to use ANY other GPS system than Garmin because it is the only one that has not failed me. The install is so simple. When I opened the box and found a bunch of loose end wires I got scared but after looking closer I saw how easy it would be. It took about 45 minutes from the the time I opened the box to the time I was testing it out. The hardest part was finding a place to put the navigation unit as I wanted it to be completely hidden away. I ran the antenna under the dash panel as close to the front of the windshield as I could so that nobody would be able to tell I had GPS. The unit is very responsive and I have no signal problems under there. The navigation screen is slightly lower resolution than that of the portable units but it is very easy to read and customizable. Start up time is great and the price of this unit is pretty good in my opinion. So just to sum it up and maybe add... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Trucker GPS, March 24, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Garmin dezl 560LT 5-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable Trucking GPS Navigator with Lifetime Traffic (Electronics)
I have had this unit for about 3 weeks and seems to be scary accurate!!! Got me in and out of NY and Richmond with little problem. Like all GPS use with a grain of salt but if it does route you a little goofy pretty easy to reroute. Doesn't take to long to calculate the route unless you are in Virgina and tell it to avoid tolls to go out west on 80. The Truck stop finder and rest area functions are nice too. Doesn't have very many of the mom and pop truck stops in it but has all of the big ones. The weigh scale one is good if your not sure were a scale is to check your weight before you go it will tell you were one is. It hasn't froze on me at all or had any glitches. The traffic thing on it kind of sucks so don't believe it when it tells you about delays. Over all I would recommend this unit.

This review is from: Garmin dezl 560LT 5-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable Trucking GPS Navigator with Lifetime Traffic (Electronics)
Here is my review of this product.

I have been OTR driving for 4 years now, 48 & Canada. My company has integrated Co-Pilot in the Driver Tech system. It rarely worked after the 2009 update of Co-Pilot/PC Miler. So I have been going without any type of GPS since late 2009. I use Rand Mcnally truck atlas and the company local directions and Google Maps. Its worked out pretty good for me but it does take more time to plan my trip correctly.

I wanted just a better way to estimate how many miles to destination for my FM's and myself. This does that so easy. I read every review for every truck GPS on the internet that I could find. I used a Garmin in Afghanistan for a year and it didn't fail so I naturally gravitated to them for Trucking GPS.

I did ask drivers what they liked inside the Pilot, TA and Petro's that I frequent and just by word of mouth heard the same thing.

Well I am not disappointed! Out of the box, set up in my truck and... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good, But is there better?, March 29, 2011
This review is from: Garmin dezl 560LT 5-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable Trucking GPS Navigator with Lifetime Traffic (Electronics)
I know many of us are going crazy trying to figure out which of the latest Truckers GPS units is the best value. I have it down to two for many reasons. I will go into why in another review when I make my final decision. No one has written anything (that is no users) about the Rand McNally TND-710. But I will because I just ordered it. I have been using this one (The Garmin dezl-560 LMT) LMT just means included free lifetime maps and traffic updates. The LT will cost you to update the NuMaps (thats the mapping co) after 60 days from purchase. Its worth getting the LMT model for the lifetime updates of maps. Don't get that confused with software updates to fix glitches... they are always free. Now about the lifetime traffic. Well the receiver it comes with that is built into the power cable is free because it throws up advertisements at you now and then. I hate advertisements! I called Garmin which has excellent support as does RM and they said the non-ad power (the traffic receiver is... Read more
